Hands-on Science Sessions led by Women
in Science and Technology Careers
A Day to Question, Consider, Discuss, Network, and Have Fun!
Are you wondering what is next after high school? Are you trying to decide if you should consider a pursuit in a science and or technology career? TWISTER is the event that will help lead you in a direction that you may not have considered. At this one-day conference you will meet and interact with professional women immersed in careers in science, engineering, research, and technology. Each presenter is eager to share her excitement with you, answer your questions and give you a little taste of daily life in the workplace.
The annual TWISTER hands-on workshops hosted by Adventure Science Center increases the interest of young women in math and science through positive, hands-on experiences. The event fosters awareness of career opportunities in math and science related careers, provides young women with opportunities to meet with positive role models who are active in math and science related careers, and involves young women with limited opportunities for success in positive experiences in math and science. TWISTER serves as an intervention strategy designed to nurture girls' interest in mathematics and science courses and to encourage them to expand their career visions to include science and math based careers.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED AND IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 PARTICIPANTS. We recommend that you mail as early as possible because the conference fills fast!
