Science Kaleidoscope Offers Eye-Full Of WonderAdventure Science Center Hosts Special Day for Home School FamiliesContact: - Home Schoolers will be delighted and intrigued by this day full of learning at one of Middle Tennessee's greatest classrooms - the Adventure Science Center, formerly the Cumberland Science Museum. Teacher-parents and student-kids can experience a day of fun and learning on January 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Science Kaleidoscope is designed for home school children ages 6 to 15. Kids and parents participate together in dozens of educational activities, demonstrations, and programs. "Many of our programs on January 27 will feature thought-provoking presentations ideally suited for creating science fair projects and experiments," said Sharon Mendonsa, Program Manager for Adventure Science Center. "During Science Kaleidoscope, Adventure Science Center will offer everything from planetarium shows to hands-on labs. The activities will enlighten families while they are here and encourage them to explore new ideas at home." All paying participants receive an identification bracelet for admission into the activities and programs, which are scheduled every half-hour from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, they can visit all the regular exhibits, whether they want to explore the levels of the Adventure Tower; wheel their way through Mission: Possible, construct walls and skyscrapers in Construction Junction; or participate in many other "interactivities" throughout the Science Center. Adventure Science Center is open until 5 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to pack a lunch to eat in the Skyline Room overlooking Nashville. Entry into the museum and the full schedule of Science Kaleidoscope programs is $10 per person for Adventure Science Center members and $13 per person for non-members. To book a space in this day of science discoveries, call (615) 862-5177.
